Bright active future?

Today sees the return of our regular Chinese astrology feature running - time permitting every standard work day, except after a teaching weekend when it begins two days later. That said, today marks the first working day of a new 60 day cycle and being the first cycle after the winter solstice is said to mark a major shift between the yin and yang energy of the year. Consequently, you can expect to be more active and more optimistic as a result.

Today is a Wood Ox day, as wood is associated with Spring I have renamed it. Actually, the original Spring Ox was a mystical beast ridden by Lao Zi (Tse) the father of Taoism. It is shown annually in the Chinese almanac to predict annual themes, from yin yang polarity to weather and harvest yields.

Today the almanac lists suitable activities as meditating, getting engaged, swapping gifts, fixing a roof, opening a warehouse or storage facility or making funeral arrangements

The Ox is the end and the Pig is the beginning of a very strong combination known as a directional trine. This disruption affects the attributes associated with the combinations element, in this case water, which may cause problems in communication or travel. For best results, make sure whoever you are communicating with understands you, and also allow extra time for journeys.

Rat signs actually have immunity to this phenomenon and they should feel vibrant and be at the centre of attention. The other water sign of Pig can feel powerful but may be pressurised, in which case wearing white, grey or taking charge will alleviate this.

The Ox clashes with the Goat and this may bring confusion to the latter. Although, other earth signs of Dragon, Dog and Ox have power and romance, as do female Pig and Rat signs. Whilst Rabbit and Tiger and Monkey and Rooster signs can be lucky with money. Snake and Horse signs are full of ideas which they can put these into practice.

Tomorrow it’s you!
