Wow great weather, even the rat gets a tan!

Record high temperatures for this time of year are being celebrated across the UK on this Earth Rat day. What is it like where you are?

According to the book of nature or Chinese almanac today is only suitable for pampering. With that in mind and noting that the colour associated with today's earth element could be tan, I think sometime in the sun is called for. Of course you could always smooth out a path and fill cracks in walls instead, but I know a fate thing when I see it! Now, where is the lotion?

The weekend is much better and we will return on Monday, hopefully with a nice tan on a Metal Rabbit day, until then enjoy NOW!

A sheep in wolves clothing?

Meditation, visiting friends, travelling, emigrating, laying foundations or buying or setting direction for your bed are recommended as suitable activities by the Chinese almanac on this Fire Pig day.

However, the most interesting fact about today is that the Pig forms a combination with the annual Rabbit sign, and if you have a Sheep anywhere in your horoscope this will complete the alignment. This produces a huge wood element influence, which could bring you wealth, power, or creative opportunities, just see our attribute cycle to see how you are affected. Whilst on this subject you should see if you have a Sheep or Goat in your horoscope and you can discover with our free Chinese horoscope.

Got one? Actually, it doesn’t matter if you don’t, as we have a Sheep double hour from 1 – 3pm (13:00 – 15:00 hours) when we will all be affected. When out of balance this wood element can bring either great kindness or great ANGER! I guess that’s either a Sheep or Wolf characteristic isn’t it?

Back tomorrow on an Earth Rat day, until then enjoy NOW!

Hot diggety dog!

Today's title is a bit twee I know, but it seems to sum up the effects of a Fire Dog day in an obvious and then subtle and informative way. Why? Well hot is associated with the fire element, that’s apparent as is Dog, being a Fire Dog day. Now here is the clever bit; the whole title is an expression of joy, excitement and delight and that’s exactly how the fire element can make one feel.

A fire dog would know this because they are excellent at expressing themselves, as well as being highly creative. A natural magnetism can make others in their company, feel warm and fuzzy too. Are you a fire dog, find out with our free Chinese horoscope?

The Chinese almanac recommends walkies, having a shampoo, getting a new basket or bed, digging a hole and seeing a vet as suitable activities for today. For all other signs this translates to travelling, having a haircut, buying or setting direction for your bed, moving earth, seeing a doctor or choosing a treatment.

Back tomorrow on a Fire Pig day, until then enjoy WOOF!

Spring chicken ages by new moon at year break

The Spring season is associated with the wood element and chicken is a female rooster, so today's title is a no brainer as it falls on a Wood Rooster day.

Year break occurs every day the opposite zodiac sign to the year falls; and this double clash between Wood Rooster and Metal Rabbit causes stress.

As you know stress ages us and can ultimately cause serious health problems. To balance this clash hydration or more specifically the water element is desperately needed.

The Moon is strongly associated with the water element and today is the start of a new cycle, usually good for development. However, the water element comes in many forms and probably the most effective is communication, try to remember this if someone causes you stress today.

If you think before you act you will realise that wisdom is also part of the water element and balances problems. Do not let it be a case of the old proverb, “when you are up to your *** in alligators, it is difficult to remember that your initial objective was to drain the swamp”.

The Chinese almanac follows this theme and suggests quite reflection, self-pampering or tidying up affairs. It is much better from tomorrow and we will return then on a Fire Dog day.

Monkey tree; now that’s a puzzle!

Today's title should be taken literally as a Monkey Tree is also known as a Monkey Puzzle tree. Inspiration for this slight nod to humour occurs on this Wood Monkey day due to the Yang Wood in today's sign. This symbolises a great tree, with its roots in the earth, its leaves in heaven and its beauty for mankind to benefit from. Many ancient civilisations and teachings share this philosophy and in Chinese astrology it can also symbolise the “luck trinity”, said to unite mankind with heaven and earth.

On the subject of luck the Chinese almanac suggests travelling, having a haircut, getting married, buying or making clothes, emigrating, signing contracts and trading, moving earth, fixing a roof, planting, or setting up a tombstone as suitable activities.

We will return tomorrow on a Wood Rooster day, until then enjoy NOW!

Snake coalition aids governments in final phase; be positive the eyes have it!

It is not surprising that recent media is full of doom and gloom as this month was, according to Chinese astrology, always going to be the worst of 2011, due to a major clash with the annual zodiac sign. It has the effect of one influence trying to expand whilst the other contracts and especially affects government and order and maybe best interpreted as nations trying to control expanding debt and inflation.

However, this Metal Snake day brings assistance as the Snake is part of the same group as the monthly Rooster sign and this union perhaps indicates much needed support in strengthening strategic alliances.

This assistance should bring relief and, falling as it does today on the autumnal equinox heralding the final phase or 4th quarter of the year, should be taken as a positive sign of better times ahead. At the very least, we emerge from this clash on the 8th October and things will certainly improve naturally by or from then onwards. Our thoughts are energy, so perhaps we should help this healing process by thinking the best of whatever situation we find ourselves in.

So be positive in all you do and it should feel as if we are already there. The book of nature or Chinese almanac seems to follow this trend and recommends starting long term relationships with activities such as getting married, exchanging gifts, taking a course, having an astrology reading, emigrating, laying foundations, fixing a roof and buying or setting a direction for your bed. Being one of the eight high-energy days of the year, it is also good for spiritual practice, particularly meditation.

Finally, in Chinese face reading you can usually tell a Metal Snake person by their almost mesmerising eyes and rounded features, particularly cheek bones. Perhaps you have this feature or know someone who has, and you can find out with a free Chinese horoscope.

We will return on Monday a Metal Monkey day which is especially good for reform or giving up bad habits.

Until then enjoy NOW!
