Good years day?

Random acts of kindness could mean a great year ahead.

As today has the exact same energy as the year, it provides a snapshot of the Water Snake year ahead. Further, today's hour signs exactly match the months so if overall you have a tough day, but your fortune changes in a particular hour, perhaps you have a month to look forward to?

Let’s put this methodology to the test as we use the relationship between the day and the hour to see how society may fare this year.  The hours are based on local time, so use the clock in your home to see the trend of each hour/month below. As we mostly sleep during the night we will liken our rest period to a bear’s hibernation and start our year in April, which corresponds to average waking time of 7am – 9am.

  •  April; in society terms there seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel and people should start to awake from the doom and gloom, or possible nightmares that they may have found themselves in. It’s generally good for wealth, recognition and working together with a team spirit.
  • May; (9-11am), as this is also a Snake month here are today's recommendations, which should also be good activities for the year. They include meditating or honouring ancestors, asking for blessings, visiting friends, buying or making clothes, opening a business and trading, buying or setting direction for your bed and cooking.
  •  June; (11-1pm) in terms of society should be good for setting laws and regulations, and investments in land and property.
  • July; (1-3pm) great month for Horse signs. For all others, expect lots of travel and leisure deals. It’s especially good for personal development or taking a course.
  • August; (3-5pm) many of last month’s trends continue to develop and this is an especially good time to seek advice. There is a possibility of further global bailouts.
  • September; (5-7pm) governments continue to dominate the news and it may be an unusually cold month. Elsewise, it’s good for team work and forming partnerships.
  • October; (7-9pm) is a bit of struggle but you will be able to find out who your friends really are and teamwork pays dividends.
  •  November; (9-11pm) will probably be the most interesting period as it will see the end of an old regime or methodology and a completely new understanding or beginning.
  • December; 11-12am as just stated, a new start for society begins.

It should be noted that these trends are very general and refer more to a society level rather than an individuals. Nevertheless, it does offer an interesting experiment of comparing what might appear as random acts of fortune with today's hours and the forthcoming months.

See our dedicated Water Snake web page for our annual predictions, or if you have a Water Snake in your horoscope, or to see how this qi will affect you. Although our office is open as normal, we will be taking a spring break from our daily blog and will return on 9th April. Until then, enjoy every moment of NOW!

Hidden dragon, crouching tiger?

Our title derives from a Chinese expression describing a place where people conceal their strengths from others in order to preserve the element of surprise. It is typically used to advise people not to take their position lightly. As it’s a Metal Dragon day (and not many people know that), you might think that was the hidden part, but read on.

The feng shui almanac advises a low profile too and recommends travelling, having a haircut or sweeping house. It advises against fixing nets or making funeral arrangements, especially as it’s a Ghost day in the 28 Lunar Mansions.

Here is the hidden part. It being a Dragon day in a Rabbit month, you only need a Tiger in your Chinese horoscope to receive a huge wood element influence that, depending on your chart construction, can make you either very able or very unst-able, which may be a bit of a surprise to those around you.

Similar to a Dragon, when the wood element is out of control, it can bring great kindness or anger, as well as fantastic opportunities for wealth, creativity, support, power and recognition or relationships. To discover its effects and to see whether you have a Tiger, use our free Chinese horoscope  and then our also free attribute cycle. It’s either going to be really good or… not so much.

Our title also refers to another aspect of today, in that it marks a new 5 day period in which Eagles are said to appear as Turtledoves. However, if you treat everyone you meet with respect, all will be fine and you will receive kindness instead of fury in return.

We are teaching this weekend, so our blog will not return until next Wednesday.
Until then, enjoy every moment of NOW!

Monkey Mouth?

If Water Monkey is in your Chinese horoscope under certain conditions you could enjoy continuous prosperity.

It’s a Water Monkey day and as water represents wisdom, it reminded me of the three wise monkeys, one of which could speak no evil. That’s an interesting coincidence as in face reading a distinguishing feature of a Water type person is a distinguished mouth. It’s usually extended and undulating like Benedict Cumberbatch, Simon Cowell or Lord Alan Sugars. If you know someone like this and have their birthdate you could see for yourself with our free Chinese horoscope.

If Water Monkey is in your chart, especially as the day, you can be extremely prosperous in middle age. If you were born in August or November as well, you could have abundance throughout your life.  This affords an affluent lifestyle, very useful as you enjoy comfort and being pampered. On the downside, there is a tendency for people to tell you what you want to hear but if you always follow your instincts, shouldn’t create any problems. Famous Water Monkeys include Rosanna Arquette, Jack Black, James Cameron, Elvis Costello, Benedict Cumberbatch (day), Melinda Gates, Joe Jonas, Lil' Romeo, Edward Norton, Matthew Perry, Erik Schrody, Christian Slater, Adam Yauch.

It’s a slow news day in the feng shui almanac and only suitable for tidying up loose ends, or concluding matters such as funeral duties. It advises against opening water features or aligning your bed. It’s a better day tomorrow and until then, enjoy every moment of NOW!

Hog hunting?

It could be an extraordinary day for those born under the Chinese animal sign of Pig, is this you?

The feng shui calendar lists today as a Metal Sheep day in a Rabbit month and that’s two parts of a Chinese astrology set. A Pig completes this triple alignment and was the inspiration behind our title. Consequently, if you were born between 9-11pm (local time) or from November 5th – December 5th, or in any Pig year such as 2007 and every 12 years before, you will have a Pig in your chart and that could make today extraordinary.

Of course you could also have been born on the day of the Pig, and to avoid an extremely complex formula, here is a free Chinese horoscope to tell you.

This form of Chinese astrology is so accurate it views you as one in almost 13 million different people, so it’s impossible to generalise. However if you have a Pig in your chart, the best way to discover the effect of today’s huge wood element influence is to also use our free attribute cycle. This shows if your relationships, heath, wealth, creativity or power will be affected and whether today will be incredibly good or more challenging.  Mind you, the Pig sign is clashed this year, so the latter shouldn’t now bring too many surprises.

Returning to today's Metal Sheep, if you have one of these in your chart you have great expression, resource and an enviable understating of the natural order of things. There is much more I could tell you, but it’s already on our dedicated Metal Sheep web page, as is how your own Chinese zodiac sign will fare under its influence.

You might also like to know that today's feng shui almanac lists meditating or honouring ancestors, asking for blessings, getting married, taking a course, travelling,  having an astrology reading, emigrating, opening a business and trading, laying foundations, fixing a roof, buying or setting direction for your oven or attending a funeral as favourable activities.

We hope to return tomorrow with a Water Monkey, although it’s still very busy. If you have a Pig in your chart or know someone that has, please feel free to pass our blog onto them. You might also like to subscribe free below. In any case our daily feng shui blog provides almost daily guidance on how to make the best of life.

Until tomorrow, enjoy every moment of NOW!
