Being a Fire Dog day in a Sheep month, you may think today's
title was a no brainer. However it does have a deeper meaning, and as the
Chinese almanac suggests the only favourable activities today involve the
rearing or cultivating of animals, a Sheep Dog would be most useful.
The almanac also suggests fixing nets and catching fish and
as it’s a fire day, honouring our ancestors is also auspicious. It advises
against setting up an oven or digging foundations.
As sheep dogs help retrieve strays and restore unity to the
pack, I am reminded that tomorrow sees the end of Mercury retrograde and
hopefully, “normal service will soon be
resumed”.
Returning to Chinese astrology, there are actually five
types of Dog. They are all dedicated to
public service or helping others, but today's Fire Dog is the most creative.
Being a pack animal, they are well travelled, highly sociable and have an
uncanny knack for making money by “thinking outside the box”. Their
physical features are generally square with angular faces and pointed
extremities.

Cher, Deepak Chopra, Timothy Dalton, Matt Damon, Bill Gates,
Joanna Lumley, Freddie Mercury, Dolly Parton, Alan Rickman, David Lee
Roth, Steven Spielberg, Donald Trump, Jean Claude Van Damme, Kate
Winslet and Yo Yo Ma.
