We first started this blog in quite mundane terms by just stating the daily pillar. In the old days, we would just entitle this a Fire Monkey day and in fact, the first blog we ever wrote was also a Fire Monkey day.
However, as there are sixty different combinations or pillars, we found this simple form quite uninspiring and like everything we do, wanted to inject some knowledge and at times, a touch of humour. Monkey see, Monkey do refers to the learning of a process without an understanding of why it works – clearly not our way of doing things!
In Chinese philosophy and feng shui, the title refers to sight and action; two of the many phenomena associated with the fire element. There you go educational! Lots – indicates the auspiciousness of today which according to the Tong Shu is very lucky for those born on a Snake day or hour and not so good for those born on a Water Tiger day. Can someone tell Lord Sugar to take it easy today? For the rest of us, recommended activities include meditating, asking for blessings, taking a course, visiting friends, travelling, getting married, exchanging gifts, having a professional astrology reading, buying or making clothes, emigrating, opening a business and trading, refurbishing your home or office, moving earth, fixing the roof and setting up a tombstone.
As we are teaching this weekend, our blog returns on 15th June. Have fun.
