And the cow jumped over the moon……

Astrologically there is a lot going on at the moment, as this Metal Ox day will see a full moon eclipsed tonight, just a week away from the summer solstice – the high point of nature. In trying to find a title for all these phenomena, I arrived at this line from an English nursery rhyme. Well, it mentions the moon, and cow is another name for ox.

You might think this is somehow not up to our normal standard, but when you consider that the origins of this rhyme may refer to Hathor, the Ancient Egyptian goddess who personified the principles of love, beauty, fertility and joy, it would seem perfectly appropriate, wouldn’t it?

If Metal Ox is part of your horoscope, especially if it is your day pillar, you are highly resourceful and well-liked by others. Possessing great determination and drive, you can easily express yourself and cope well under pressure which helps you create abundance and prosperity, especially if you were born between January 6 and February 4. Famous celebrities include Orlando Bloom, Jim Carrey, Princess Caroline of Monaco, George Clooney, Billy Ray Cyrus, Caleb Followill, William Hague, Woody Harrelson, Peter Jackson, Nastassja Kinski, Heather Locklear, Kate Middleton, Eddie Murphy, Barack Obama and Meg Ryan.

When eclipses occur, the Chinese almanac doesn’t usually recommend following any activities, but it does today and we can be said to be “over the moon” especially when we are meditating; visiting friends, getting married, having an astrology reading, buying or making clothes, emigrating, opening a business, moving earth, fixing a roof, going hunting or setting up a tombstone.

Until tomorrow enjoy today
