No cock and bull story?

Today's title originates from the height of the coaching era in the UK when The Cock and The Bull were two of the main coaching inns on a busy stop off point between the north and south of England.  It refers to the banter and rivalry between groups of travellers, which is said to have resulted in exaggerated and fanciful stories.

The reason why I chose it is that today is a Wood Ox day, which is the obvious bull. The not so apparent part is that being a Snake Year, the Ox only needs a Rooster (cock) to make a very strong metal influence. If you were born in a Rooster year, or after the first week of September, you may have one and that could make today highly memorable. You can discover whether this is you with our free Chinese horoscope.

If you are a regular reader of our feng shui blog, you will know that as there are almost thirteen million different charts in Chinese astrology, it’s impossible to generalise whether today will be spectacularly good or bad for our Rooster friends. However, follow the instructions in our attribute cycle and see for yourself.

Mind you, it is worth taking a look regardless of your Chinese animal sign as between 5pm and 7pm (local time) today, the Rooster hour will form this triple alignment and affect us all. For the rest of today the feng shui or Chinese almanac suggests meditating or honouring ancestors, travelling, seeing a doctor or choosing a treatment, buying or setting direction for your bed, opening or installing a water feature and fixing nets. Don’t lay foundations or plant seeds.

To see how your own sign is affected, see our dedicated Wood Ox web page and we will hopefully return tomorrow, although it’s extremely busy right now. Until then, enjoy every moment of NOW!

Like a camel standing amidst a flock of sheep?

Today’s title is another Chinese saying and means standing out from the rest. Substitute the camel for a Horse and those who have this Chinese astrological sign in their horoscopes will certainly stand out today.  That’s because the Horse completes a special alignment between today's Earth Goat and the annual Snake sign to become highly magnetic, perhaps even larger than life.

That not to say that today's Earth Sheep is not impressive; it most certainly is being the strongest, healthiest and most charismatic of the five different types of sheep in Chinese astrology. I cite Famous Earth Sheep celebrities born as Heath Ledger, James McAvoy, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Kate Hudson, Kelly Brook, Norah Jones, Pink, Cat Stevens, Kate Beckinsale, Lisa Kudrow and Rufus Wainwright as examples.

The Chinese almanac recommends meditating or honouring ancestors, visiting friends, taking a course, travelling, laying foundations, buying or setting direction for your bed, hunting, or setting up a tombstone as suitable activities. Unsuitable activities are refurbishing a kitchen or setting up a stove.

There will be a full moon on Sunday and as we are teaching this weekend and very busy next week, we hope to return next Wednesday.
Until then, enjoy every moment of NOW!

Eating like a horse

I am sorely tempted to place a question mark on the end of the title, but that would change our intended meaning and perhaps offend some of our readers. Actually, being such an auspicious day, our title refers to getting as much as you can and probably more than you need.

The Chinese almanac recommends meditating or honouring ancestors, asking for blessings, visiting friends, having a haircut,  travelling, getting engaged or married, exchanging gifts, having an astrology reading, buying or making clothes, emigrating, opening a  business and trading, refurbishing a home or office, laying foundations, fixing a roof, making wine or fermenting and setting up a tombstone.

Today’s Earth Horse is part of the same Chinese zodiac group as the monthly Tiger sign. This is what makes today auspicious and is further enhanced if you have a Dog in your Chinese astrology chart as it completes an extremely prominent fire influence. Is this you? Check our free Chinese horoscope to see.

Having nearly thirteen million different variations within a Chinese horoscope, it’s difficult to say how this alignment will affect you personally, but take a look at our attribute cycle and follow its instructions. Alternatively, a professional astrology reading will tell you, as well as so much more.

If you would like to see how your own sign is affected see our dedicated Earth Horse web page. We will return tomorrow on an Earth Sheep day. Until then, enjoy every moment of NOW!

Harmony makes both a family and a nation prosperous

Today's title is a self-explanatory Chinese proverb, which seemed appropriate as both components in today’s Fire Snake are of the same fire element and harmonious in themselves.

This theme also fits the Chinese almanac which suggests keeping everything on an “even keel” by smoothing cracks in walls and pathways. As I prefer to leave building work to the professionals, perhaps, this could be taken metaphorically and mean to tidy up loose ends? Anything for an easy life, speaking of which the almanac advises against having a haircut today, so don’t say we didn’t warn you and remember to keep the family peace. Pehaps, that should be piece?

If you would like to see how your own sign is affected see our dedicated Fire Snake web page. We will return tomorrow on an Earth Horse; now... that should be topical.   Until then, enjoy every moment of NOW!

It gives you Wings…but a Bunny is better!

Today the Moon will rise in the inauspicious “Wings” sector of the ancient 28 Lunar Mansion system of Chinese astrology and although good for entertainment, it’s bad for health and partnerships.

However, it is also a Fire Dragon day and that unites with this month’s sign of Tiger to counteract this influence and make things much better.  In fact, the group is completed by the Rabbit and should you have one, it will be a very memorable day indeed. You can check with our free Chinese horoscope.

This triple alignment will create an extremely strong wood element effect, which can either create great anger or kindness. To see how it affects Rabbits though, you will need to see our attribute cycle.

For all else, the Chinese almanac has definitely come down on the fortunate side and it recommends meditating or honouring ancestors, asking for blessings, visiting friends, travelling, getting married, having an astrology reading, emigrating, trading, laying foundations, fixing a roof, hunting or setting up a tombstone.

Generally speaking, today’s fire Dragon day should mean that Dragon signs have increased energy levels. Their associated signs of Rat can enjoy wealth and romance, whilst Monkey’s gain recognition and power. Pigs can also enjoy wealth and authority and Rabbit, Tiger, Snake and Horse signs can be creative. Dog signs are clashed and need to be careful not to overdo things especially those that affect their shoulder or chest. The Ox and Sheep may find it quite competitive and the Rooster can get some good advice.

Those born under the yearly influence of Fire Dragon include Benedict Cumberbatch, Bruce Springsteen (day), 50 Cent, Reese Witherspoon, Colin Farrell and Ronaldo. Those with Fire Dragon in their month pillar are Adrien Brody, Kirsten Dunst, James Franco, Kim Elizabeth and Haley Joel Osment.

We will return tomorrow on a Fire Snake day. Until then, enjoy every moment of NOW!
