Heavenly coincidence - good for Penguins but bad for feathered Snake

As todays Fire Snake falls on a day in which there will be a solar eclipse, one can’t help but draw a comparison with our ancient predecessors who likened the Sun to a feathered serpent. In Form School Feng Shui, we refer to the Sun as the Yellow Snake, due to its rising and passing through the ecliptic plain providing our Equinoxes and Solstices in an undulating or snake like way. It is yellow not only because the Sun is so, but also yellow because represents the sage or wise man, who knows that the sun is responsible for natural health and qi.

Today the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun, partially obscuring the image of the Sun, so it seems as though part of the Sun is missing. However, as it’s only visible in a small area south of South Africa and north of Antarctica, you’d have to be a Penguin to see it! How is that for a heavenly coincidence; on a day when it appears we lose our Heavenly body, Chinese astrology provides a replacement on this Fire Snake day.

Health wise, the Chinese almanac suggests that we look after the health of our homes or offices by refurbishing, building, smoothing paths and filing cracks in walls. We can also go shopping but should not go on a long journey or have a haircut.

Sunday is the more auspicious day of this weekend and we will return on Monday. To see how your day is affected by your animal sign see our Fire Snake page.
