Get your Goat its Halloween – no kidding!

Go figure! A Goat day falling on Halloween - that’s got to be a fate thing and no kidding. The book of nature or Chinese almanac also says it’s not a good day for “dividing elves” and realise that I must be dreaming? Oh well, just another five minutes then…

Seriously though, my Elf dilemma turns out to be a funeral rite of burning a spirit tablet. I just took the Chinese characters literally, but it’s probably not good to light incense or buy mourning wear either. It is good for hunting though, so trick or treating should be well received; just be kind to any elves you may meet!

Today’s Earth Goat or Sheep celebrates the most independent of the five different types of sheep in Chinese astrology. They also make excellent investors and able to spot a bargain when they see it. Bright and creative, they appear to have an inner magnetism that seems to draw people to them. Their caring and self-expression makes them all round people persons. Famous Earth Sheep celebrities born in 1979 include Heath Ledger, James McAvoy, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Kate Hudson, Kelly Brook, Norah Jones and Pink. Those born in an Earth Sheep month are Cat Stevens, Kate Beckinsale, Lisa Kudrow and Rufus Wainwright.

To find out if you have an Earth Sheep in your Chinese horoscope have a free Chinese horoscope . See our dedicated Earth Sheep web page for compatibility of your sign today.

It’s a much better day tomorrow - a Metal Monkey day and said to be excellent for reforming.

Until then, enjoy NOW!

"Run with the Hare and Hunt with the Hounds."

As today's Wood Rabbit sign combines with the monthly Dog sign, how could I not choose this title? What’s more, the Chinese almanac suggests hunting as a suitable activity, so there you go, it’s a fate thing! However, before worrying about animal welfare, buying clothes is also considered de rigeur and I therefore interpret this as hunting for bargains.

It’s a new moon tonight and this makes it a good time to bring things into your life. The almanac further recommends asking for blessings, buying or setting a direction for your bed or new door, or setting up a tombstone. If you prefer to consider change before actually making it, quiet meditation is also favourable.

You can see how your personal sign will fare today at our Wood Rabbit daily horoscope and as tomorrow’s Fire Dragon is a broken day, we will return on Monday.

Until then, enjoy NOW!

Follow the leader and shop for friends?

Strange title I know and you would be right to think of it as an amalgamation of suitable activities for today. Probably the easiest to explain is that the Chinese almanac suggests suitable activities as, get this; shopping and seeing friends. Now if you still need to follow a leader to do this today's Wood Tiger is an excellent example on many levels.

Firstly, “Jia” the Wood in today's Wood Tiger is known as being 1st or first class, principally because it is the first of a cycle of ten Heavenly Stems. Similarly, as our Chinese astrology year begins in February when the Sun starts a new solar cycle, Tiger becomes the first animal sign of the year. This fact has often been a source of confusion for those born prior to February 4th. When trying to find their animal sign online or in a book, they take the sign for those born after this time, when they should actually subtract 1 from their year of birth as their sign belongs to the previous year.

Tiger is also the start of a special combination with this month’s Dog sign and if you have a Horse in your chart you will have a memorable day indeed. You can discover with our free Chinese horoscope As Chinese astrology is so complex, next visit the attribute cycle to see how today will personally affect you.

We should all see an increase in fire energy during the Horse double hour from 11am – 1pm, which generally represents action and the height or peak of nature. So let us climb aboard and head for the sky! Or should that be shops? Either way, we are back tomorrow on a Wood Rabbit day.

Until then, enjoy NOW!

Water wizard takes up course from interNet

Water is associated with wisdom and found in its purest form on this Water Rat day. Add the fact that we find Net in the 28 lunar mansions, and the Chinese almanac suggests taking a course, it’s easy to see how we arrived at today's title.

The lunar mansion further suggests that this Water Rat day is good for building and marriage, and the book of nature also recommends having a haircut, travelling, opening a business or setting up a tombstone. It advises against anything to do with water features or divination.

If Water Rat is part of your horoscope - and you can find out with our free Chinese horoscope - this makes you extremely confident and an avid collector. You may also be impulsive and brash and your non-conformist outlook can you make you a bit of a rebel. Communication is a major personality trait and you seem to have an inner magnetism which attracts others to you. However, should you ever suffer from depression particularly in the winter season; a walk in the woods can truly inspire you. Famous Water Rats include celebrities born in 1972 such as Ben Affleck, Cameron Diaz, Eminem, Jennifer Garner, Geri Halliwell, Jude Law, Stephen Marley, Shaquille O'Neal, Gwyneth Paltrow, Marlon Wayans and Zinedine Zidane.

Or those born between December 5th and January 5th in years ending with 2 or 7 like Billy Bragg, Steve Buscemi, Tia Carrere, Jamie Foxx, Shane MacGowan and Ray Romano.

Busy tomorrow, but we will return tomorrow on a Wood Tiger day. Until then, enjoy NOW!

Rise on the planet for the apes as year breaks?

If you have a Monkey in your Chinese horoscope and you can find out with our free Chinese horoscope this Earth Rooster day will make a lasting impression. That is due to the Monkey combining with todays’ Rooster and this month’s Dog sign to provide a huge metal element influence. One trait of which is mental agility and increased management skills and whilst not quite on the scale of world domination, it can help you to plan your day wisely.

For lesser mortals or those without Monkey signs, we have the Chinese almanac to fall back on. However, due to a clash between today's Rooster and the annual Rabbit sign, the almanac suggests tidying and sweeping up as the only suitable activities for today. It is better tomorrow and better still on Sunday.

We will return on Monday. Until then, enjoy NOW!

Brides and mothers-in-law are like Dogs and Monkeys…

This Japanese Proverb can mean chaos or being pulled in two different directions and is appropriate, as today is an Earth monkey day in a Dog month; the beginning and end of a special combination. Add a Rooster and not only do you get great management skills, but also timing. This is an auspicious day for all, but you may well be split in two trying to do everything.

The Chinese almanac suggests meditation, asking for blessings, making a will, taking a course, visiting friends, having a haircut, sweeping the house, travelling, getting engaged, getting married, exchanging gifts, having an astrology reading, buying or making clothes, seeing a doctor or choosing a treatment, emigrating, opening a business and trading, refurbishing a home or office, moving earth, fixing a roof, buying or setting a direction for your bed, opening a watercourse, drilling a well or going hunting as favourable activities.

This book of nature further states that it is an especially good day for monkeys, but not so good for Water or Wood Tigers. It is also rather interesting for Roosters; those born on Rooster days, years, between September 7th and October 8th or between the hours of 5pm – 7pm and could make this a most memorable day. To discover what is in your chart, take a free Chinese horoscope now. Then visit our attribute cycle and place your day stem element in the start position to see how today will affect you. It could be good for wealth, creativity, travel or the perfect union or heaven and earth.

Back on an Earth Rooster day. Until then, enjoy TODAY!

Fire Sheep and higher goats for the water of heaven

Today's title may sound terribly discriminating but in Chinese astrology, there’s no difference between sheep and goats. In Chinese, the Fire Sheep is called Ding Wei and sometimes referred to as “the water of heaven”, because the Fire element is reflected as a hidden component in the Wei character. This is often taken as a source of prosperity, so now we all want one, regardless of ovine or caprine influences.

Fire represents the height of nature and is a transitional state between Yang and Yin, or growth and decay. Could that also be firing or hiring, which is more topical in this economic climate? If so, today is a good day to look for a new job as the Chinese almanac suggests hunting and “obtaining” as suitable activities. Meditation is also favourable, so you could always catch the boat on the celestial waterway, as mentioned above instead.

Tomorrow is a much better day; an Earth Monkey. Until then, enjoy NOW!
