Laughing Lemur jumps out of the fire

Today is a Fire Monkey day and as fire qi is associated with joy and laughter I wanted to find a Monkey type that began with a corresponding letter. Of course, Lemurs are primates and primates are divided into different categories prosimians, monkeys and apes. Lemurs are prosimians. Then I noticed a rare expression in the Tong Shu which literally translates as “out of the fire” and as the content of our blog is similarly unique, we forged today's title.

The correct translation of 出火 chūhuǒ is to “express ones desire” and should your wishes also include meditation or honouring ancestors, having a haircut, sweeping house, moving home, refurbishing a room, making wine or fermenting, installing a water feature, herding animals, or setting up a tombstone, the Chinese almanac supports you wholeheartedly.  Not so much if you lay foundations, or buy or set direction for your bed or oven.

Fire Monkey is potentially the richest of the five different monkey types in Chinese astrology.  Depending on what time of year they were born, they may be quite punishing on their bodies or have tight control of their emotions, especially so when found within their day pillar, see free Chinese horoscope.

Monkey’s natural pals are the Rat and Dragon whilst Tiger, Horse and Dog may clash and you should see our dedicated Fire Monkey web page for your own personal signs tendencies. We will return tomorrow with a Little Red Rooster.  Until then enjoy every moment of NOW.
