Like herding cats

Today's title refers to making a futile effort or at least one that is very difficult to accomplish. This is due to a Water Tiger day falling in a Dog month. Although the Tiger and Dog are part of the same astrological group, the vital central role of Horse is missing. Of course, you may have one in your horoscope and you can find out with a free Chinese horoscope.

Having a Horse could turn today into an extraordinary or memorable day. However, as Chinese astrology is complex and therefore extremely accurate, you will need to see our attribute cycle for fire to see how you are personally affected.

Regardless of whether you have one or not, we will all share the Horse double hour that starts at 11am and runs until 1pm, so we all get a chance to accrue a memory at this time. That said, for the rest of the day the Chinese almanac suggests only burial duties or fixing nets as the only suitable activities.

It is a much better day tomorrow and we will be back on Monday.

Until then, enjoy NOW!

On the straight and narrow until the cows come home?

Today is a Metal Ox day in Chinese astrology and an Even day in the Jian Chu system. Hence the only recommendations made by the Chinese almanac are to meditate and thank your ancestors, or level paths and fix walls and that’s how we arrived at half of today's title. The rest comes from the Ox being the storage or resting place of today's Metal element, which I have taken as the home.

If Metal Ox is part of your horoscope, and particularly if it is your day pillar, you are highly resourceful and well-liked by others. With great determination and drive, you can easily express yourself and cope well under pressure, and this helps you create abundance and prosperity, especially if you were born between January 6 and February 4. Famous celebrities include Orlando Bloom, Jim Carrey, Princess Caroline of Monaco, George Clooney, Billy Ray Cyrus, Caleb Followill, William Hague, Woody Harrelson, Peter Jackson, Nastassja Kinski, Heather Locklear, Kate Middleton, Eddie Murphy, Barack Obama and Meg Ryan.

We will return tomorrow on a Water Tiger day.

Until then, enjoy NOW!

Creative Rat is over the moon and looking forward to a generous future

Before unfolding today's title I should just apologise for the abrupt halt to last week’s series which finished two days short; last Wednesday. When I started writing this blog I explained that it was always going to be subject to finding a little time is an already hectic schedule to actually write it and last week was crazy!

Whenever, there is a downturn in the economy or uncertain times ahead, people are willing to try something different and feng shui seems to be at the top of their list. Although, a feng shui consultation cannot always guarantee results; it usually allows people to make the most of their surroundings, greatly reduces stress and provide insights and reassurance to empower them for their future.

From the absence of superstition and inclusion of physics, they are always amazed at the common sense of it all. Feng shui business works because in nature, high energy always flows to lower forms and there is usually an area of each home or office where this higher energy can be accessed and encouraged to flow throughout a building. When this air flow is absorbed by staff or occupants it empowers them to make the right decisions and greatly increases efficiency, even to the point of being saved from bankruptcy.

Once tried, clients tend to tell all their friends and family about their amazing results and this keeps our practice busy! We also taught at our Feng Shui School this weekend and held our annual certificate ceremony for our newly qualified consultants. This means we now have more people to help others enjoy the benefits of Feng Shui and make a positive future. We send our congratulations once again to them. On the subject of which lets explore today's title.

Metal Rat is perhaps the most creative of the five different types of Rat in Chinese astrology. Rat signs tend to be avid collectors and these metal types are intelligent and make excellent investors. They can also become great travellers and with that in mind, we can travel to December of this year when the whole month has the same Metal Rat energy as today. This affords a glimpse into the trends and tendencies in this festive period, although as last night was a full moon, it may be slightly less active.

If we look at just the relationship between the Metal and Rat in todays and Decembers pillar, it indicates great generosity; certainly something to look forward to. The Chinese almanac follows this trend and recommends investment type activities which range from taking a course, buying land or opening a business and trading, to personal investment in wellbeing by meditation or quite reflection; in appearance by having a haircut or removing mourning clothes, even preventative health treatment from acupuncture. It advises against fixing nets or making a wedding dress.

We will return tomorrow on a Metal Ox day.

Until then, enjoy NOW!

Sound as a Snake

Today's title is an old proverb that refers to being healthy and I chose it because sound or specifically music can refer to the Water element. That seems appropriate as it is a Water Snake day. What’s more, the Snake forms a partnership with this month’s Rooster and having friends to share our lives with improves our wellbeing and health.

As you would guess, today's Chinese almanac recommends both group and health activities such as taking a course, visiting friends, getting married, having an astrology reading, seeing a doctor or choosing a treatment, emigrating, opening a business and trading, refurbishing a home or office, moving earth, fixing a roof and hunting as suitable activities. It advises against lawsuits, going on a long journey, burning spirit tablets or attending to burial duties and buying clothes.

It is supposed to be a very good day for those under the influence of Yin Wood and Snake and if you have either in your chart, you have a memorable day ahead. Find out your Chinese astrology with our free Chinese horoscope.

We will return on a Wood Horse day. Until then, enjoy NOW!

End of heat wave, as Water Dragon takes Wing?

According to legend the Chinese emperors used to petition the Water Dragon to send rain and aid agriculture or bring relief to drought regions. His success in this field, excuse the pun, was directly linked to his popularity. Had this practice been around today, he may have smiled at the heavenly coincidence found in the Chinese almanac or book of nature. Namely today's Water Dragon meets with the lunar mansion called Wings and looking out of the window, as I am doing now; he may have thought his job had been done for him. UK weather forecasters have also advised that our Indian summer may be coming to an end.

The almanac suggests meditation, asking for blessings, taking a course, travelling, getting married, having an astrology reading, emigrating, opening a business and trading, refurbishing a home or office, moving earth, fixing a roof, buying or setting direction for your bed, or setting up a tombstone.

Today also affords a glimpse of 2012, as it is also a Water Dragon year, where water will have a major impact. Discover how your own sign fares today with our dedicated Water Dragon page.

Until then enjoy NOW!

Pull a Rabbit out of the Hen hut?

Strange title I know, but then strange times are the order of this Metal Rabbit day. Even though we are in a Metal Rabbit year, the current month of Rooster has the strongest influence. This clash with the Rabbit is known as a “year break” and usually denotes difficulties, confusion and break ups. I tried to sum up these effects and plucked today's title out of thin air whilst mentioning a Rabbit in a Roosters abode.

The Chinese almanac suggests todays only suitable activities are taking things apart or fixing walls and paths. Tomorrow is a much better day all round, a Water Dragon day, so all important decisions should be made then instead of today. Until then enjoy NOW!
