Earth Snake day – smooth or rough?

In nature Earth snake are small and secretive, they are brown, gray or reddish coloured. There are 2 species in their genus: Smooth Earth Snake and Rough Earth Snake. Similarly, in Chinese astrology our Earth Snake could also be considered as being red and brown and depending on when it occurs could indicate being rough or smooth. In general terms an Earth Snake denotes strength, resourcefulness and good health, especially so in this Ox month. As its qi is well supported; it is definitely of the “smooth” variety.

There is also a partnership aspect as the Snake is part of the same group as the Ox (January) and Rooster (17:00 – 19:00) and this carries through in recommended activates stated in the Chinese almanac for today. These range from seeing friends, to getting engaged or even married to them and swapping wedding gifts. Moving to a new home, or refurbishing home or business are also well highlighted, Perhaps finishing by fermenting wine and drinking responsibly.

Today’s Chinese astrology sees the Rat and Pig signs being lucky with money although the latter is clashed and will benefit by taking advice before making major decisions. They may naturally find this assistance from earth signs of Dragon, Sheep, Dog and Ox who are all well supported with extra “bounce”, they may spend this in bargain hunting.

As you may expect Snake signs are prominent and creative whilst their fellow fire signs of Horse can be quite prosperous. Rooster and Monkey signs are in the spotlight and can gain power and prominence. The Wood signs of Tiger and Rabbit should be quite creative, or are able to relax or travel with ease.

Until Monday – enjoy now!

Earth Dragon day

Today’s Earth Dragon day should mean that all earth signs including Sheep, Ox and Dog are at the centre of attention and can find assistance in managing their affairs. However, Dog signs are clashed and need to be careful of over extending themselves.

The Rat and Pig can enjoy power and recognition whilst females of these signs are lucky in love. Monkeys and Roosters are positively vibrant and will have a hard time sitting still or being anything less than flamboyant.

Rabbit and Tiger signs can easily cope with all today brings and may be lucky with investments, especially if they seek proper advice. Snake and Horse signs will be inspired and should act quickly to put new ideas into action.

Meanwhile the Chinese almanac or Tong Shu states only renovation; especially of paths and walls as the only suitable activity to begin today.

Until tomorrow – enjoy today.

Bright active future?

Today sees the return of our regular Chinese astrology feature running - time permitting every standard work day, except after a teaching weekend when it begins two days later. That said, today marks the first working day of a new 60 day cycle and being the first cycle after the winter solstice is said to mark a major shift between the yin and yang energy of the year. Consequently, you can expect to be more active and more optimistic as a result.

Today is a Wood Ox day, as wood is associated with Spring I have renamed it. Actually, the original Spring Ox was a mystical beast ridden by Lao Zi (Tse) the father of Taoism. It is shown annually in the Chinese almanac to predict annual themes, from yin yang polarity to weather and harvest yields.

Today the almanac lists suitable activities as meditating, getting engaged, swapping gifts, fixing a roof, opening a warehouse or storage facility or making funeral arrangements

The Ox is the end and the Pig is the beginning of a very strong combination known as a directional trine. This disruption affects the attributes associated with the combinations element, in this case water, which may cause problems in communication or travel. For best results, make sure whoever you are communicating with understands you, and also allow extra time for journeys.

Rat signs actually have immunity to this phenomenon and they should feel vibrant and be at the centre of attention. The other water sign of Pig can feel powerful but may be pressurised, in which case wearing white, grey or taking charge will alleviate this.

The Ox clashes with the Goat and this may bring confusion to the latter. Although, other earth signs of Dragon, Dog and Ox have power and romance, as do female Pig and Rat signs. Whilst Rabbit and Tiger and Monkey and Rooster signs can be lucky with money. Snake and Horse signs are full of ideas which they can put these into practice.

Tomorrow it’s you!
