As mad as a cut snake?

What has today's title to do with a Wood Snake I hear you ask? Well, a strong unbalanced wood influence denotes anger and may be the case at this time of year due to the seasonal water influence. As the supportive water element is at its peak, this may translate to angers peak of madness.

In any case, probably the best thing to do with a cut snake is to clear up and that’s the only thing the Chinese almanac suggests for today. That and preparation, on the subject of which, as this is our last blog of the year, the best days of next week are Sunday, Monday and luckily Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, where taking a course or other educational gifts are extremely well received.

May Slim and I wish you everything you wish yourself during the festive season and we will return in a month’s time. Please note that we are only taking a break from the blog. Our office will only be closed from December 23rd to the January 3rd, although you can send a message in any feng shui or Chinese astrology emergency.

Dragon’s pal finds blessings amongst bargains

Today's Wood Dragon has a strong affinity with the monthly Rat sign and makes this a highly auspicious day. According to the Chinese almanac, it’s a good day for meditation, asking for blessings, visiting friends, travelling, getting married, exchanging gifts, having an astrology reading, emigrating, opening a business and trading, refurbishing a home or office, moving earth, fixing a roof, buying or setting a direction for your oven , hunting, or setting up a tombstone.

Today's title combines blessings with hunting and a topical interpretation would be shopping for the festive season, where it would seem to be a fate thing. To see how your own sign is affected today see our daily horoscope Wood Dragon web page and we will return tomorrow on a Wood Snake day.

Until then – enjoy now!

Brer Rabbit swaps trowel for towel on path to success!

As brer is another name for the colour black which is associated with the water element, our title is another way of saying today is a Water Rabbit day.

Unfortunately, there is not a lot of love lost between today's sign and the monthly sign of Rat. Consequently the Chinese almanac recommends only preparation by metaphorically fixing walls and smoothing out paths as suitable activities for today. This is no doubt for the Dragon year ahead which brings a great deal of opportunities for success and financial rewards. So swap a trowel for a towel and pamper yourself instead.

To see how your own sign is affected today see our daily horoscope Water Rabbit web page and we will return tomorrow on a much better Wood Dragon day. Until then – enjoy now!

So long and thanks for all the…..chicken?

Today's title was reputedly the last words of comic author Douglas Adams, although I’ve changed it from fish to chicken as today is a Fire Rooster day and chicken fits better!

Of course fire also plays its part as laughter and comedy come under its influence, which is much needed today, as the Rooster clashes with the annual Rabbit sign. It’s called a Year Break and the Chinese almanac recommends a day of preparation, instead of making major decisions or implementing new plans.

“So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish” was also the title of Mr Adams 4th book, which likewise works as fish travel in schools and we are taking a break from this blog to teach Feng Shui this weekend. We should return next Wednesday but only for a further three days, as we will be taking a blog break for the Christmas holidays. Our office will still be open and we are working on many projects until 23rd . After that, we will break for Christmas and return on the 3rd January.

On the odd chance of being too busy next week and not continuing for those few days, may we wish you blessings and peace for the Christmas period and throughout 2012. Until then, so long and thanks for all the…..turkey?

Monkey shine melts “Big Snow” in Rat race

Wow a lot going on today and not just in our office. We begin with it being a Fire Monkey day and as fire glistens or shines, you can see how we derived inspiration for our title. It can also refer to a dispute amongst friends and today sees the start of the Rat month, where the Rat and annual Rabbit have never quite seen eye to eye.

Luckily, any disagreement is balanced by the Monkey and Rat being part of the same group and considered pals. In fact, a Dragon completes this combination and produces a very strong and usually favourable reaction. See if you have one in your chart with our free Chinese horoscope. Race refers to a monthly cycle and usually marks a huge effort to ready ourselves for the festivities ahead.

Today also sees the start of a new fifteen day period called quite literally “Big Snow”. Chinese philosophy has noted over millennia that in the northern hemisphere we traditionally get larger snowfalls at this time. Consequently, you may want to prepare your home and car for the possibility of more challenging weather conditions ahead. Although, looking out of my office window, I am reminded again of the shine in today's title, this time prefixed by “sun” and all thoughts of this melt away.

The Chinese almanac is taking a well-earned rest and only recommends preparation as today's suitable activity. It advises against having anything to do with fire; except for keeping warm that is.

To see how your own sign is affected today see our dedicated Fire Monkey web page and we will return tomorrow on a Red Rooster day.

Until then, enjoy NOW!

Smile don’t get a goat – it’s annual kindness day

There is plenty to smile about as we celebrate an alignment between today’s Wood Goat, the current monthly sign of Pig and the annual Rabbit sign. This produces the strongest wood influence that can create either great kindness or incredible anger.

In the modern vernacular, “goat” is a metaphor for your state of peacefulness. When your goat is with you, you are calm and collected. When your goat is stolen, you become angry and upset. So smile and the world will smile back; it’s better than the alternative.

On the subject of smiling, it almost appears as if the Chinese almanac has a Cheshire cat like grin due to its bright red visage. This makes most things favourable including meditation, asking for blessings, taking a course, visiting friends, getting engaged, having an astrology reading, opening a business, signing contracts and trading, refurbishing a home or office, moving earth, fixing a roof, buying or setting direction for a bed or oven , hunting, or setting up a tombstone. It only advises against dealing with fabrics, so with the festive season looming, try to delay any urge to buy multi-coloured socks or reindeer emblazoned sweaters – at least until tomorrow.

To see how your own sign is affected today see our dedicated Wood Sheep web page and we will return tomorrow on a Fire Monkey day.

Until then, enjoy NOW!
